I will forever be endebted to Dr. Blanding for his guidance, tutelage and knowledge. Not only was he a brilliant professor, but he was also significant in my recovery from depression in the mid 90's. Dr. Blanding was significant in my diagnosis and assisted me in seeking treatment at the time. I learned so much from him during my time at Rowan University and am so very sorry to hear of his passing. He had a significant impact on my life.

I'm very sorry to hear of Zenola's passing. I too have fond memories of Zenola, his kindness, his attentiveness, and nurturing spirit. He took time with my nephews and me. He made us feel like our lives mattered and that we had the potential to do great things. Be strong Zeki and Zake. Your father's legacy includes you. Don't let him down.
April 27, 2012
God Bless my cousins Zeki and Zach through this time. Uncle Zenola was like a father to me and my life was enriched by knowing, loving, and learning from him. I am very sadden but will forever cherish the memories. I would like Zeki and Zach to remember these words; He who has gone, so we but cherish his memory, abides with us, more potent, nay, more present than the living man. Hold tight to memories for comfort. Lean on your friends for strength, and always remember how much you are cared about. As you comprehend this profound loss, let yourself cry knowing each tear is a note of love rising to the heavens.
Like a bird singing in the rain, let grateful memories survive in time of sorrow.
Love you guys with all my heart,
Robyn

I was so saddened to learn of Dr. Blanding's passing. I had the opportunity to have him as my professor for Abnormal Psychology in the Spring Semester of 2000 at Rowan University. Thorought the years, we had became very close friends. He was the first person I called when I was offered a position at the Division of Youth & Family Services in 2001 & when I was engaged in 2009. His kind & encouraging words always made me feel at peace. I will never forget his soothing voice & laugh. He ended every conversation with "Bless your heart Brianne". It is now my turn to say "Bless your heart Dr. Blanding". He was the most influential & intelligent person I ever had the priveledge to call a friend. I am honored to have known him & will never forget the life lessions he taught me. His spirit will never be forgotten.

I met Dr. Blanding many years ago when my friendship began with his daughter, Zeki. I knew him to be a patient and loving father. He was dedicated to his work and instilling its value in others. Although he will be missed we are fortunate to have our memories of the lessons he shared as his legacy.

May the Lord keep you in this time of loss.

So sad to hear of the loss of our beloved Uncle Z. I will always remember his kindness, generosity and warm spirit. To his daughter Zeki, I see so much of him in you. We were blessed to know him for so many years and while we are sad that he is gone, we know that he is at peace and that we will see him again someday. My heart is heavy, but I will always remember my Uncle Z as one of the most kindhearted, softspoken and thoughtful of men. He was always ready to share an encouraging word and showed a genuine interest in each person he met. My condolences, thoughts and prayers are with the Blanding family as you celebrate a man that touched so many lives in such a wonderfully special way. May Uncle Z be at peace and at rest.

It was my great honor to know Z. Blanding. He was instrumental in helping me start my college teaching career and always supported me. Z made a great difference in the world - a world which would be a much better place if we had more people like him.

When Z came to the Psychology Department at Rowan University, I had the pleasure of working with him for almost ten years. He was a remarkable man and left an everlasting impression on me. His schedule was always full and we would laugh when he would show me his calendar so I could try and find a time to schedule a meeting. He showed kindness and caring at all times - no matter how busy he was, he always had time to talk and help in any way possible. He talked about his daughter and son and was so proud of them. I wish I could think of the right words to express my gratitude for having known him. He loved teaching and will be remembered by many students.

My heart is broken by the passing of my wonderful brother-in law who was the brother that I never had. I shall always treasure our marvelous times together in Georgia, Florida, New Jersey, New York, and of course, South Carolina. Zeno was such a positive influence in the lives of his niece Robin and nephews Rusty and Chris. I am sorry for his early demise, but bellieve that we will all see each other again in Heaven.

Sybil, I am so sorry to hear about "Z"'s passing. Although I only knew him briefly, I feel honored to have known such a man. In the few conversations I was fortunate to have with "Z", his intelligence, class, warmth , and charisma shined through. What possibilities the world would hold if there were more men like your husband. God bless and comfort you in your time of sorrow.

Good-bye my dear, dear friend "Z". Although I first knew you as a colleague at Rowan University, we quickly became very close friends. You possessed a very special blend of intelligence, charisma and warmth.

James Brown may have been the "hardest working man in show business", but you were the hardest working man I ever met.....period! I tried many times(with limited success) to get you to slow down, but you had too many causes that were very important to you, and, Z, you were all about giving.

I'll miss you, "Z". Rest in peace.
