MICHAEL SLOTOROFF Obituary

SLOTOROFF, DR. MICHAEL S. 65 - (1948-2013) - of Galloway Township passed away Friday, January 18, 2013 at AtlantiCare Mainland Hospital in Galloway, New Jersey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. George and Gloria Slotoroff. He grew up in Pleasantville, New Jersey. He graduated from Albright College in Redding, PA, and received his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He was a caring and devoted physician who practiced Internal Medicine in Pleasantville, New Jersey for many years. After retirement, he continued his mission of caring for others by offering comfort to the homebound through the Contact Organization. Dr. Slotoroff was a member of the Belcher Lodge # 180 of the Masons in Egg Harbor Township. Dr. Slotoroff is survived by his loving wife Renee, his devoted children Melanie (Jason) Flanagan and Matthew (Jennifer) Slotoroff, step-daughters Lori Amar and Jill Smilow, along with his loving brothers Dr. Howard (Jill) Slotoroff and Dr. David (Barbara) Slotoroff, and by his beloved grandchildren. Services will be held graveside Sunday at 12:00 noon at Rodef Sholom Cemetery, Egg Harbor Township. Michael was a warm, generous, and caring person throughout his life. As a Atlantic County Contact volunteer, he phoned shutins, including my father every Tuesday for many years, providing a warm, caring and truly interested friend. Michael's good deeds will live on in all the people whose lives he touched and made better, as a physician and as a mentsch.

May his memory be a blessing to his family and all who knew him.

My deepest sympathies go out to the entire Slotoroff family. I have fond memories of my childhood growing up with all my cousins, Michael, Howard & David. I loved Dr. George & Gloria. They were wonderful to me. Michael was a fun cousin to be around. A very caring person & a wonderful doctor.

I was very sorry to read of the doctors passing. I was his nurse in Royal Suites and despite the lingering medical problems he had to endure he never lost his sense of humor. I liked him very much and he make a difficult job more pleasant.

I worked with Dr. Michael when the Mainland Division of now AtlantiCare first opened in 1975. He was one of the residents and I worked in the Laboratory. He was a fun, caring, and considerate person. I have thought of him often through the years and I cherish the memories. My sympathy to the family.
