Mr. Mitchell did alot for Galvesotn, in ways big and small. In the early 80s, he hoasted a party for Galveston's Ball High School alumni. My father, born in 1915, attended with me and my mother. It was wonderful, and Mr. Mitchell was very gracious. You were a great man, Mr. Mitchell.

George Mitchell was a living legend in the Texas oil fields for nearly 70 years and he personally probably did more to innovate the production of oil and gas than any other living Texan before his death. Mr. Mitchell was also a tremendous humanitarian and a courteous gentleman, to boot. In my only encounter with him many years ago in an office building lobby, he surprised me with his immediate familiarity with my family business and activities. A nicer oil tycoon one cannot imagine. With deep sympathy and condolences to Greg, Sheridan, Kirk and the entire Mitchell family and their many friends, associates and supporters.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

My sincere condolences to the family of GPM, with whom I had the pleasure of working -thru Bill Wells and Gene Sparkman- during the 80's and 90's on digitizing and enhancing old seismic paper records; little did I know it was for fracking. Any time I ran into GPM in the elevator, he always asked "Are my boys treating you well?"
What a great man he was,George P Mitchell!!!

Please accept my sympathy for your loss. May all be comforted by the wonderful promise: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more. Neither mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away"
