ROMANO, ANTHONY, 89, a longtime resident of North Scituate, died peacefully Saturday with his family by his side. Born in Colorado Springs, a son of Lee and Anna (Caranci) Romano. He was a founding father of the North Providence Little League Association. The Lee Romano Little League field is named in honor of his dad who was the fields groundskeeper in its early days. He was CYO Man of the Year in the late 1950's. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Nora Rothwell Romano. He was predeceased by his brothers John, Paul & Victor and his sisters Anna, Irene, Viola and Edith. He is survived by his daughter Kathleen Holmes and her husband John A. I had the pleasure of meeting Tony and Nora at the Atria Facility. Instantly I grew attached to them. You could see the bond they shared as he always made sure he was by his wife's side.

Tony looked forward to my dad visiting and playing the piano for him. He would urge him to play as he moved his fingers as if he were stroking the keys himself.

I watched as you bestowed so much love and attention to them. He and Nora were blessed to have such a wonderful daughter & son-in-law.

May you find the strength during this difficult time and focus on the wonderful memories you've created through the years.

He will be missed!

My thoughts & prayers are with you, Nora and the family~
