Dear Family and Friends of Dr. Karambelas,

I, only today, discovered the huge loss to
everyone who knew this wonderful man, when
I noted "was" on the card announcing a new doctor in his office.

Age of 85 and 50 miles away, I became unable
to see him, after some 20 years of his care
and friendship.

It's Sunday, I searched on line, to be
certain of what I feared, then read all the
warm and heartbreaking condolences in tears.

I want to join the group. -Denise Shafner

Marion, It was such a coincidence - finding Dennis for my eye care after taking care of you and your girls at Women & Infants. I always felt well cared for and I loved loved loved our talks about travel and my yearly updates on your twins. I just learned today about your loss. I will miss him.

I happened to be googling for Dr. K's number and saw his obituary.
I was a patient of his for well over 30 years, back to the days of Ophthalmology Inc. on Waterman Street and am so very saddened at his passing.
One need only look through the messages here to see that his patients were with him for decades, which speaks volumes to the professional he was. But he was so much more than that. Like other patients, I would spend half our sessions hearing the stories about what his girls were up to, and we laughed at the fact two of our daughters had such similar names: Devin Kathryn and Devon Kathryn. I always felt as though I knew them growing up and he never tired of talking about all their exploits. You could tell he loved his family and loved his life.
I cannot imagine the hole this leaves in the lives of his family, but I hope they are somewhat comforted by knowing how much he was loved by all his patients.

Dear Marion, Alexandra and Devin,
We were just at a wine tasting at Bin 312 and John told us of Dennis' passing. Of course we were shocked and immediately concerned for you and your daughters. Although our times together were not great in number they were great in impact. When we think of the holiday events on South Main they are filled with the happy and a little bit rowdy times with you and Dennis and the office team. We know Dennis touched many lives and will long be remembered by all. He and you are in our hearts always.
Michael and Pamela Woodnick.
