Auntie Gilda brought her beautiful smile with her wherever she went. My earliest memories of her include cookouts, Christmas Eves, and her endless patience to listen to a chid and marvel at their accomplishments. Once when I was very young I joined my Grandma Annie, Auntie Julia, and Auntie Gilda on their annual lobster trip. No one could pick a lobster clean like they could! We must have spent three hours there eating lobster. But true as true Italians, there was always room for dessert. And so knowing the child would know the best place in town to get dessert, we ended up at Friendly's in Johnston for Apple Pie Sundaes! What a day. Her love of food turned every meal into a banquet, whether she was rolling prosciutto and melon on Easter, enjoying eel on Christmas Eve, or a burnt hot dog on the 4th of July, her beautiful smile and laughter she shared will be forever cherished.

I remember Gilda when I would go to her sister Ange's farm in East Providence. She always had a smile and was full of tricks. Thank the lord she is in Heaven with her Husband Michael and her family.

Good bye Gilda It has been many years I have not seen you but when I saw that beautiful smile how could I not tell you how much I am glad that we were friends through all our school years. Rest in Peace my lovely classmate.
