The Carlson family,

My parents (Doug/Lori Nelson) had asked that I write a short note for them. First, we are all very sorry for your loss.
As most of you know - Gordon was a very wonderful person with a great sense of adventure and zest for life...My dad remembers all of the activities at Coventry lake when they were kids(sunfish sailing, water skiing and just hanging out)
My mom recalls all of the wonderful summers spent at the point on the lake with all of the kids playing in the water with cookouts and socializing.

Carol and Gordon would travel to cape cod before and after they had kids - We spent many hours roaming Long nook beach - his passion for the ocean/water was always felt ,as he would spend hours/hours in the water with all of the kids teaching them the craft of catching the perfect wave!
I (Dianne Nelson) remember that feeling of riding the powerful wave into the shore and how amazing I felt - Gordon was always there to give me praise and then he would be quick to say "let's do it again!"
we will always remember and honor the passion for life that you shared with so many.

So sorry, he was so strong for so long. Nana sends her condolences too. Please if we can do anything, don't hesitate to call. Virginia Becker was visiting at St. E's and she told me. Heaven will have the best displays ever. Phyllis and family.
