The toughest Priest I've ever met. Thank you Father "Nak" for setting me on a path of life I couldn't have imagined in my wildest dreams. Life does truly immatate art. Baz sends with respect.
Father Nakowicz was both a terror and an inspiration to our two sons at OLP.
He is easily the most remembered feature of their time there.
A fine priest and inwardly gentle man.
Sorry to hear of Fr. Nakowicz's passing. I and many others at OLP now appreciate your style, humor, and tactics to inspire us to be better men. Thank you & God Bless!
Rest In Peace Fr.Nakowicz. You will be truly missed by all your parishioners at Our Lady Of Loreto Church.
Father Nakowicz, you married myself and my wife Carrie 22yrs ago, you came to our reception, you made our transition into Marriage with love, laughter and grace! You always wanted to come to Florida, now your with us in spirit! God Bless, and thank you! May you Rest in Peace!
Father, Thank-you for all that your were for so many during your tenure at OLP. It was both a privilege to both work with you as well as learn from you. Your presence will endure.
Here was a unique, inspirational man of integrity who did what so many of us can only aspire to do: he made a difference. I'm grateful to have known him.
Sorry to hear of Fa. Nakowicz passing. He was truly one of the last good traditional teachers of the Liturgy. May God Bless him for his committment to the faith. Maria G.
So sorry to learn of Father Nak's passing. Condolences to his family from the entire Hassett clan. We all have many fond memories of him during his time in Harrisville. Rest in Peace.
Rest In Peace Fr.Nakowicz..You will be greatly missed by so many people You have touched through the years!
So many lives were blessed and souls graced having known you, Father. Thank you for your mentoring and friendship.
Nak, Thanks for being such a good friend and inspiration for me and so many. You will be truly missed.
There is no doubt that Fr. Nakowicz had a big impact on so many lives: from his parish to students at O.L.P. We were all privileged to have him as our teacher. Rest in peace.
So pleased to have had the opportunity to catch up with you at lunch last year. Have to say sitting across from you at a lunch table as an adult was much better than sitting across from you at your desk in your office as a teenager, but I wouldn't trade either for anything in the world. RIP Fr. Please keep us in your prayers.
It is so difficult losing two of my high school mentors in the same year. May you rest in peace Fr. Nakowicz, you always kept me in line. Say hello to Msgr. Lolio.... as a young high school student, and as a priest for thirty years, you my high school teachers and brother priests were the best!
May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
Father Nakowicz, I wish to thank you for your guidance in your role as Dean of Students at OLP. Also, I could not have had a better Religion teacher as a senior in high school 24 years ago. At such a critical time in my life, you conveyed to me through your lectures a wonderfully enlightened perspective I would not otherwise have found, and which has been instrumental in countless wise choices I have made, as well as my appreciation for the many gifts I have received from the Lord. From the detention hall as a freshman to the Reunion of the Providence Years, it was great to know you, and I will miss you.
Enjoy your eternal rest, Fr. Nak! You deserve it, but you will be sorely missed by a great many people. Rest in peace, Padre!!
Rest in Peace Father. I will make sure not to forget my jacket and tie when I meet you again at the gates someday. You will always be remembered.
Rest in Peace Fr. Nakowicz. I'm glad I got to visit you in September. Thank you for being the celebrant at my brother's funeral 10 years ago. One thing you taught me in high school chapel was that I was not to leave the church after the final prayer and I was to wait until the celebrant left first. I never again to this day have ever left the church before the priest did.
Well Fr. Nakowicz I and other OLP graduates have been recalling stories of our years in high school.Of course we have funny stories with you star of the tale!
Stern but concerned.
I worked for my parish throughout high school and wouldn't you know, my boss(the Pastor) always knew what I was up to at school.
You kept me on my toes! Your individual concern always amazed me. Thank You. I'm where I am today because of you.
Rest in peace.
Thank you, Father Nakowicz for being a great inspiration to me, as a graduate of OLP. Your leadership, dedication and concern for the student body is an awesome tribute to you and to Our Father in Heaven we all serve. You have touched my life all for good and I thank you. My prayers & thoughts are with you. God Bless
One can only imagine the welcome Father Nakowicz received upon entering Heaven the other day. Sounds of Ange's lockers clanging shut could be heard all through the clouds as news spread of this hotshot Dean of Discipline who was a 'new hire' from PADRE NATION.
Fr. Nakowicz was a most excellent man. He was a peerless supporter of Catholic Theology and teachings of the Church. He was a strict disciplinarian and as a result, he helped to present educated gentlemen of strong moral character.
Though we may shed a tear today at the the instance of his loss; we smile broadly and raise a glass in his honor and the privelege of having been part of his life.
dear father- thank you kindly for the much needed guidance
while at olp. very happy to have reunited w/ you at the reunion. god bless.
THANK YOU FATHER NAKOWICZ FOR ALL YOUR WORDS AND WISDOM WHILE I WAS GROWING UP AT OUR LADY OF PROVIDENCE....MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU......GOD BLESS YOU
You were very dedicated to the Church. You made it clear that we would be the first or one of the first Churches to make the annual Catholic Charity Appeal. You also made sure that we attended the Feast every Dec. 7th. You were very missed last night at the Feast.
To me, you had a unique sense of humor, and those that knew you over the years knew that was you.
I am honored to be a volunteer and loyal parishioner at Our Lady Of Loreto.
Rest In Peace. You will be missed.
Father,Thank you for your compassion and leadership. You set the standard of Excellence for all of Us at Our Lady Of Providence Seminary High School. I'am very thankful for having known you and fortunate and blessed to call you my friend. It was always great to see you from time to time and catch up on current events. We were all apprective of your visit at my mom's wake just 8 months ago,and seeing you brought back fond memories. We shall keep you in our prayers forever, and our deep condolences to your family and brother clergy of our Diocese of Providence.
Our Lady Of Providence Class of 1975
He was my senior advisor at OLP, so when I became editor of TPV in 1991,I knew exactly what I was in for, and Father did not disappoint. For 15 exciting years, we put together a great newspaper. His passing has rocked me, even as I followed his steady decline. I have never known a priest like him, and respect God's choice to break the mold. Dialogue may be more civil in the church today, but we are truly less for it. I regret not being able to attend his Mass, but my thoughts and prayers are with you all.
RIP Father. You were a great dean of students and will be missed.
Father Nakowicz was a wonderful man who touched the hearts of so many, our family included. He made us feel so welcome at Our Lady of Loreto. We are blessed to have known such a remarkable person, his smile and sense of humor will be missed.
RIP FR. Nakowicz. Your stern ways at OLP made us mature and learn respect. You were the reason people either failed at OLP or did well. I did well and I thank you for that.
Thank you Father Nakoowicz for your support and guidance.
Thank you for the times my Son enjoyed Mater Spei Camp and at OLP when you were Dean..I also wish to thank you for your compassion after my Son's passing and the kind..thoughtful words you expressed to me...You will not be forgotten...RIP .
May the puppies of paradise welcome you.
I remember Father Nakowicz at St Mary's in Crompton mostly at CYO. He was young and related to people our age at the time.
I met Fr. Nakowicz Years ago at our lady of loreto. I'll never forget his wonderful sense of humor and his loyalty to his friends. R.I.P. my friend.
What an impressive record of service in the Church and to the People of God! All of Stan's accomplishments were laced with a keen wit and mischievous smile. He was directly truthful on most topics. He cut through the camouflage of language. A huge number of people and fellow priests were influenced by this one priest life and style. God, take him now into eternity and bless us through his prayers. Fr. Joe Protano
Father, Thank you for all you did over the years to ensure that myself and many other men improved ourselves, to became the people we are today. You have no idea the positive effect you had on so many people. You will be missed. Rest in Peace.
