Lucien Charron

CHARRON, LUCIEN ARTHUR 93, of Providence died March 9, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Jeannine (Guillotte) Charron. They were happily married for 64 years. A resident of Providence since 1923, he was born in La Patrie, Province of Quebec, Canada to Arthur and Alma (LaFlamme) Charron. He was a WWII veteran, who received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He fought in five major European campaigns, including Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. He was a tool maker and President and Owner of Char-Lan Machine Tool Company. He was Trustee of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish for 40 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son Louis Charron, his daughters Gisele Charron Zangari and her husband Kenneth, and Denise Charron-Prochownik and her husband Edward, and his granddaughter Katherine Prochownik. He also leaves his brother Joseph Charron, and his sisters, Juliette Plante, Florence LaFlamme, and Bernadette Bouley; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Marguerite Marciniak, Blanche Samson, Cecile Sickinger, and Rev. Leonard Charron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 11am in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 901 Atwells Avenue, Providence. Burial with military honors will be in RI Veteran's Cemetery, Exeter.
