Jo Ann, Karen and Regis,
I brought Communion to your father for over two years spending anywhere from 30-60 minutes with him every time I came. We shared a good deal including his great pride in all three of his daughters -- and, of course, his amazing love for your wonderful mother, Marie. While I greatly miss the man that he was until the last few months when he had such difficulty communicating, I still greatly loved meeting with my good friend every Tuesday morning.

The hardest part of my mission is coming to Trinity Elms looking for my friend there -- and not finding him -- only to find out that he died since my visit the previous week. My only consolation was being told that your Dad died peacefully in his sleep.

I had been looking every day in the obituaries to learn how I could say goodbye to your wonderful Dad. My heart is breaking again because his funeral is this Saturday, the only weekend when I had long made plans to be in Stockbridge MA. But I will be at a holy place -- where I will, of course, be praying for my dear friend -- and all of you. Having shared so much of his love for God, I have no doubt that he is holding Marie's hand in Heaven right now.

May God bless you all.
