RICHARDSON JR., WALTER F., 88, of Warwick, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2012. Together for 70 years, he was the beloved husband of Marilyn J. (Lewis) Richardson; beloved father of Walter F. Richardson III, Esq. and his wife Karen (Roch) and John R. Richardson and his companion, Susan Fehner; loving grandfather of Walter F. Richardson IV, Julie A. Richardson, USMC Staff Sgt. John R. Richardson Jr., Joseph F. Richardson and Jason P. Richardson; loving great-grandfather of Samantha, Hannah, Jacob, Weston and Josiah. Son of the late Walter F. and Anna M. (Campbell) Richardson. Brother of the late Mildred Sjogren and Helen Way. Walter was a Warwick City Councilman from Ward 2, 1952 1972, serving as Council President for four years. He loved the City of Warwick and worked diligently as Economic Development Director serving under two mayors. Walter was a used car manager at Norwood Motors Chevrolet for 25 years and later a partner with Airport Auto Sales and Main Street Motors. Walter was a Navy Veteran of WWII, member of the Overseas Lodge F & AM, Rhode Island Shriners, Scottish Rite-Valley of Providence, American Legion Post#61, Public Director of Boy Scouts of America, and Board of Directors for the American Diabetes Association. Walter was one of the first Incorporators of Kent County Memorial Hospital, a Real Estate Broker, and a founder of Coffeetime, Inc., a Warwick vending company. His funeral will be Thursday at 9:00 am from the R. A. IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte.117), Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial, followed by military honors, at 10:00 am in Christ The King Church, 120 Legris Ave., West Warwick, RI 02893. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 -7 pm. My sincerest sympathy to the entire Richardson family. I started my career in the office of Norwood Motors some 45 years ago. I remember Walter as one of the nicest people at the company. He always had a smile and a nice word for everyone.
