We found this site pretty late in the game, after the funeral today.
The event was reminiscent of all the days runners gathered at Chuck and Marion's house for long slow distance runs. You got to catch up on things and share stories.
There was time for remembering.
Then several of us went out the the CRRC memorial tree in the little grove beside the tennis courts at Memorial Park.
Pat Phenicie-Grandel attached a yellow ribbon to the trunk and we all took a moment to reflect on our running, and one who made it possible.

Sincerest Sympathy to Marion and the family at this difficult time. Chuck was definitely the heart and soul of the Chambersburg Road Runners and mentored so many of us on running, cloud formations, and so much more.

May comfort and peace be with Marion and Chuck's family. Chuck was an inspirational force behind many runners throughout the years. Chuck lived life to the fullest. Chuck enjoyed sharing his love of running with everyone, and he always made sure he knew everyone's name. Many fond memories are recalled of club runs from his house in New Franklin and the many Chambersburg Road Runner Events that he coordinated.

Chuck was an inspirational coach and mentor to so many of us as we prepared for marathons. I will always remember his words of encouragement and interesting stories during our long runs together. My thoughts are with his family and friends…he was a good man.

Our prayers and thoughts are with Chuck's
family. He was an incrediable man. We got to know Chuck thru the Chambersburg
Road Runners Club. He was the driving force behind that organization. Chuck will be missed by many. Deb and Ken Poper
