Joan Schnoor Joan Schnoor, 81, widow of Richard J. Schnoor, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014. Born in Menasha, Wisc., she was the daughter of the late Walter and Inez Humski. Joan was a homemaker most of her life and she enjoyed being with her family, traveling with friends, knitting, doing puzzles and making the best chocolate candy. Prior to her recent illness, she resided at Providence Place and was a member of the local AARP, the Elks Club Auxiliary and the Geyer Drive Neighborhood Association. She and her husband had been married 59 years prior to his death in 2012. She is survived by five children, Diane Gluck and husband W. Larry of Greenville, S.C., Dan Schnoor and wife Teresa of Greencastle, Mary Fuss and husband J. Steven of Schertz, Texas, Janet Appleby and husband Terry of St. Thomas, and Bill Schnoor and wife Jodi of Middletown; ten grandchildren, Kelly (Appleby) Gordon, Tyler Appleby, Michael George, Scott George, Kari Zeger, Kimberly (Gluck) Wallner, Jennifer (Gluck) Handy, Danielle Schnoor, Matthew Schnoor, and Luke Schnoor; 11 (soon to be 13) great-grandchildren; and by a brother, Wayne Humski of Menasha, Wisc. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Humski; and a sister, Rosemarie Etka. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday May 31, 2014 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Private interment will be at Corpus Christi Cemetery. I am so sorry for your loss. My parents, Mark and Sally Jansen wish to express their condolences as well. My sister and I had them on a trip to Wisconsin at the time of your mother's passing. She was a great lady and will be missed.

Joan was a great lady. I always looked at her as my second mother. I have many fond memories of growing up in St. Thomas and spending time with her and Dick. She will be greatly missed.

I have the best memories of Joan & Dick with my friends,Fred, Janice, and my husband Ed Miller will always remember the fun at the Elks, golfing with them, Joanie and Janice shopping, I was the 4th,& hoped to beat one of them! So sorry for your lose. I have so many fond memories of her and My Mother and their friendship. They are together again and laughing about the good old days at Ruth's house. Thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.

My prayers to the family. Your mom and dad were good people. My wife Michelle baby sat for them in the sixties and they took my crazy dog "Herman" when we left Pa for California in 1966. Finally I grew to know them better through the family business in Chambersburg. Good people!

Mary, Janet and Bill, I remember you guys from JBHS. I had the privilege of occasionally speaking with your mom when she lived at Providence Place. She was a wonderful woman. May you find comfort during this time of grief.

Joan and Dick were my neighbors on Stanley Court years ago before they moved to their present address; they were wonderful neighbors; Joan always had a smile on her face and was a friend to everyone. Sincerest condolences to the family.
