Dawn Jennifer Michaelis passed away in her home on March 2, 2018. She was born on August 31, 1974 in San Pedro, CA. She graduated from San Pedro High in 1992, and enjoyed a 24 year career at Southwest Airlines in which she moved from Customer Service Agent, to Ground Operations Agent, and most recently, moved to Ground Operations Cargo Agent. Dawn is survived by her father and mother, Bill and Kirsten Michaelis, née Wigdahl, of San Pedro; her brothers: Bryan Michaelis, Kevin Michaelis (Jessica), and Marla Lopez; five nieces and nephews: Makayla Michaelis, Tessa Michaelis, Kaden Michaelis, Elle Michaelis, and Will Michaelis; her loving grandmother, Beverly Michaelis, and countless aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by her grandfathers, "Mike" Michaelis, Art Wigdahl, and grandmother Irene Burge. Dawn will be remembered for her love of family and friends, appreciation for the beach, her warm hugs, laughter, and most of all, her smile that lit up the hearts of all those who knew her. A viewing and visitation is being held on Sunday, March 11, at McNerney's Mortuary from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. May you Rest In Peace Dawn. You always had a smile that could light up a room. From white point days to Dana jr high school days we always had a good time. I hadn't seen you in awhile but we reconnected on Facebook and I was so excited to hear from you and see that smile again. I'm so sad to hear the News of your passing - we shall see each other again

Love you so much Dawn, I'm gonna miss your voice all the funny conversations, miss you coming out your house with a huge smile just to say hi when I pick up kids, gonna miss seeing and hearing you sing with head phones while your tanning in Your backyard for the summer. Most of all I'll miss you being next to me at all the kids special events. I'm so forever grateful for god for putting you in our life. You'll be missed but never Ever forgotten. thank you for being an awesome aunt and always making the kids laugh. I promise I'll be there for your family & Smokey your cat. I'll see you in heaven and will continue where we left off. Love you for eternity! P.s kinda wish I said yes to those boots you ordered and didn't fit you, so you offered them to demi or Ever and I said um Evers 4 and Demi like 6 dawn ! We laughed so hard, your like I know but try them there made for tiny tiny feet . So I did , and couldn't even fit my big toe in them .
