I just learned of Rachel from a book I was reading that is actually about a terrible tragedy. Although the story in the book is upsetting, the part that stood out to me most was Rachel's passing. I cried reading it and I cry now reading the entries in this guest book. Reading about her death made the war feel very real to me and I go about my day now heart-broken. There is an entry here from someone stationed in Abu Ghraib with her that said she sent a letter to a soldier in her unit that had not yet received any letters. That moves me to tears. Rest in peace Rachel. You impacted people greatly as evidenced by the people that continue to post on your guestbook so many years after your passing.
