George was such a unique combination of strength and compassion which he shared generously with all his friends. And there weren't many that met George and did not develop into his friend. You immediately were drawn into a connection with his magnetic intelligence and fun-loving nature. He was a caring leader, and leaves a legacy of those he mentored. George lives on in our treasured memories, and will be truly missed in this world.
George was not only a wonderful Vice President but truly a good friend. We shared lunches together after our departure from the company and also many laughs together. I last talked to him in July 2013 and he was just as wonderful and funny as always. He knows I will not be attending any services for him because I want to remember him as he was the last time we talked or the last time we shared lunch. You will be greatly missed George.

George was a force of nature. If he was in a room, you knew it. Such a great voice and story teller (and boy did he have stories). He would always show up at the SDG&E Alumni Luncheons in his holiday red, and enjoyed the friends and, again, regaling everyone with stories. He and Dottie loved going to movies and I would often run in to them there. He was dedicated to his sons, his Star Pals charity (among many), the Oakland Raiders, any teams his sons played on, and, of course, his friends. George will be missed. I am glad I knew him as a friend, not just a boss.
It's not often you get to spend time with a friend's parent. George wasn't a parent when we were out...he was a friend. His spirit was that of a 20-year old and his laugh would light up the entire room. He loved attention from the ladies, and the ladies loved giving it to him. He was kind, soft-spoken, full of life and a great man. I enjoyed every minute spent with him & only wish there were more minutes to be had with Poppa George! He will be missed!
Words cannot expresee what the loss of George means to me. We had many fabulous years together that I will never forget and the love that me shared. He was my friend, love and will remain as such forever. Dotie
George was definitely one of a kind !Not only did I work for George, but as Carl wrote, we have George to thank for introducing us almost 30 years ago. George was a great union supporter/negotiator and a boss that was always a supporter. I was always struck by how dedicated George was to his four sons. George, will be missed. With Love. George will be missed !
In loving memory of George and to the family of our good friend who introduced us to each other in 1984. Loving memories Carl and Vicki Zeiger
