Dear Marnie,

We just learned about Howard's passing from the USD alumni magazine. Our thoughts are with you and your family at this most difficult time.

Marnie and family....Your photo choice captures the wonderful Howard so well. Such a life filled with an abundance of love, family and friends. I remember my folks would talk about how close your children were which is a perfect indication of your parenting and love in your home. My heart is with you all at this time and always Marnie.

Dear Marnie,
We just spoke, and I was distressed to learn of Howard's passing, though not totally surprised from everything I had heard recently.
I just told Michelle, and she sends her deepest sympathy.
As we discussed, I know that this has been a very long process and we are thankful that you and Howard are now at last at peace.
I read the beautiful obituary you wrote and it is truly moving. I agree with every word of it and know that the two of you and your wonderful family have had a truly blessed life together, one to be very proud of and thankful for. Anyone would be profoundly pleased to be the subject of that obituary and, thus, as you said, if the final illness is the price for such a life, I think you and Howard made a very good trade indeed.
Michelle and I are thinking of you and the family and wishing you the best in the days ahead.
With sympathy, concern, and fondest regards, we are
Sincerely,

Web and Michelle Heidelberg

Dearest Marnie,

We are deeply touched by the departing of Howard. We were all aware that Howard was an enthusiast "fin gourmet", and recently only, we found out that we also know one of his siblings. To all the family, please accept our sincere condolences.
