I just recently learned of Rea's passing. I thought the world of him and wish I had known and been able to attend his service. We worked together for several years at RSF National Bank. I loved his stories and loved his knowledge of history. But what I admired most about Rea was his love for his wife Betty, his children and his grandchildren. As I told my friend Kim (who also worked with Rea), I realize he lived a full and good life.....but somehow this world does not seem quite the same without him. He was a very special man.

My deepest sympathy to you for your loss. Almighty God can revive the heart of those being crushed. Isaiah 57:15

Ray was a great friend to both my parents Vern and Betty Simmons.
Dad and Rea fished the trout stream of Oregon, comradery my father cherished. He was there to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary and to help my father through the passing of my mom.
He was an endless source of knowledge about Rancho Santa Fe.
Rea was just a class act and will be missed

Rea, you will be deeply missed in Rancho Santa Fe and the many other places where you spent time. Your passion for life and helping to make things better will always be remembered by those who knew you. The last years you were in Rancho I enjoyed our working together to help ensure that the Rancho Santa Fe Historical Society would continue to grow.
Your smile and sense of humor will make Heaven a happier place.
