Robert Davies Obituary
Dr. Robert Bruce Davies, 90, of Lebanon, died Friday,
August 5, 2016, in Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospital,
Lebanon.
He was the husband of Martha Alice Snyder Davies, with whom he would have celebrated their 65th wedding
anniversary this December. Born in New Cumberland, he was the son of the late Cecil and Mary Wieder Davies and was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II aboard the U.S.S. Laertes.
He began his career in medicine as a Country Doctor in Berks County before becoming the Director of the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Health Center in 1974, where he also served as the Varsity Team Physician for all sports at IUP. He then retired after serving as a Physician for the Commonwealth of PA.
Dr. Davies was a graduate of Sinking Spring High School, Dickinson College and the Philadelphia College of
Osteopathic Medicine. He was a member of Mt. Olivet Lodge #704, F. & A.M., Lebanon, for over 50 years and the Rajah Temple Shrine, Reading.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, painting, sailing, birding and watching sports on TV.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Robert B. Jr., husband of Stacy Davies, of Fleetwood, Steven T.,
husband of Carol Davies, of Lebanon; two daughters,
Robin, wife of Glenn Wolfe, of Shillington, Cynthia L.
Davies, of Midlothian, Texas; seven grandchildren: Michele Stringer, Dr. Jacquelyn Horst, Kristina Stover, Sean
Davies, Kristen Davies, Lt. Steven Davies Jr., Kimberly Keever; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil and Donald Davies.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main Street, Annville. A viewing will be held on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. and also on Tuesday from 1:30-2:30 p.m.
prior to the service. A Masonic service will be held on
Monday evening at 5:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
Inurnment will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. with Full Military Honors in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with a procession forming at the Kreamer Funeral Home at 9:15 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Attn: Membership Dept., 6 Herndon Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21403 in his memory.

Marty and family,
So sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was really a remarkable individual and a real inspiration to his children and all who knew him.
He was a great neighbor when he lived here on Concord Street in Indiana, Pa. and was always there when I needed his help.
