James Glimme Obituary

James "Jay" Andrew Glimme March 29, 1945 April 2, 2015 Jay Glimme passed away on April 2, 2015, at age 70, after a yearlong struggle with cancer. Jay spent his childhood living in Lafayette, California, with his parents, Maxine and Andy, and older brother Tom. After attending UC Berkeley, Jay practiced law. While practicing law provided him with funds to support his family, his true passion in life was art. Jay was a creative, talented, and inspiring person who has left a tremendous impact on all who knew him. His physical art can be seen in numerous paintings, murals, playhouses, wedding arches, benches, piers and so much more. His true gift to all was his wit, eloquence and constant irreverent humor. Jay is survived by his mother, Maxine; wife, Nancy; sons, Aaron, Adam, Austin and A.J; and five grandchildren, Emma, Lizzie, Parker, Chase and Calvin. He was a dutiful son, caring husband, an encouraging father, loving papa and a great friend. He has spent much of his retirement in Lower Lake, California, where he spent his time building and creating art. Jay has left his stamp on this world, has made it a more beautiful place and will be tremendously missed by all. Celebration of Jay Glimme will be held at the Kugelman Ranch on Saturday, May 2, at 2 p.m. Please share your memories by signing the guest book at www.legacy.com

To Nancy and the boys, I was so sorry to see that Jay has left us. I was in the habit of searching for him on the internet periodically, just to see how he was doing, once in awhile even venturing a call, so I was quite saddened to see this. I always thought that once we both retired, we could get together for another afternoon of chess like we used to 40 years ago. Please accept my deepest condolences and know that I am thinking about him and you.
