BEAR LAKE — Terry Lee Peck, 55, of Bear Lake, passed away at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Tuesday, June 27, 2006, after a lengthy illness.

Terry was born March 28, 1951, in St. Johns, to the late Raymond E. Peck and the late Hilda Jean Probst Peck.

Terry's greatest joys in life were when he had time to go fishing with his friends, build and work on drag race cars and racing them with his brother, Mike. He also received great joy from the time spent with his race track "family," his acquired grandchildren, looking out at the beautiful scenery from the deck at home and spending time with his wife.

Dear Joanie and family,
I'm so sorry for your loss. Terry will be greatly missed by all who knew him well. I met Terry through his business (Ray's). I was having one heck of a time finding a good mechanic for my boat. I had it to several and they could not fix it. Well, it got fixed when I went to Terry, he could not figure it out at first but he would not give up. He stayed on it until he dicovered what was wrong. Something else he did at that same time was make another friend. Not...

Dear Joanie,
Just wanted you to know I am thinking of you and praying for you during this very sad time in your life. Lean on friends and family, they are a wonderful source of strength. God Bless all of you.

For those of us at Northern Michigan Dragway, Terry will always be remembered as a great guy who loved being with us at the races. I can't recall him ever complaining about much, always seemed to find the good. Thanks for sharing him with us!! It was good to see Charlie racing in his memory this weekend and winning a couple rounds in memory of Terry!
