To The Hunter Family. My prayers and thoughts are with u all. Both your Mom and Dad were very special people to me all during St. Joseph and Platt years of them letting all of us come over and swim and hang out all the time. It was nothing for them to feed us all and make us all feel at home. They were very thoughtful parents. Loved them both and now they are together again. How beautiful.
Mr Hunter was a really nice person. Always took the time to care. I remember him when he was fixing cars and had the auto body shop and then jumped into his ambulance to go help someone in need. He really was successful in so may ways. Business, Family and Friends and in the most
special way he really cared about others. He is a real hero and a wonderful man. One of the finest gentlemen I have ever had the privilege to know. An amazing family man that never said no when you asked him for advice or just wanted to get his attention. I'm sad to see him leave us, but so very thankful for his love and caring and being the gentleman I know him as. I consider him a real American Hero in so many ways. The best of the best!

To all of the Hunter family....I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Vern. My husband, Phil Paolella, Jr. worked with him in the ambulance industry for many years, and always spoke of him as a good friend.I know you are all so proud of the many contributions Vern made to his community. He will be missed.
I'd like to share one of the many amazing memories I have of Uncle Vern, and one that I have shared with others when speaking of him. A summer party with about 125 family members and friends at our home…as the hostess, I was in continuous motion mingling and making sure all guests were not in need of a thing. I saw Uncle Vern sitting on the box that housed the reel of garden hose. I said to him, “Uncle Vern, come on and sit up on the deck in a nice comfortable chair under the umbrella”. His response was, “No thanks. I've got the best seat in the house….watching my family”. The look of enjoyment and pride on his face, and that simple comment, was one I have never forgotten. Here was a man, who could have bought a king's throne to sit on…and he chose the plastic garden box where he had the best view of all his family!!
I'm sure Uncle Vern will be enjoying his time in heaven, as he did on earth! Love to all, Allison Hancock Wiernasz

Deepest Sympathy. My memory of Mr. Hunter goes back 40 years when he used to donate the front area of the first ambulance garage for our class at St. Joseph School to have a car wash to raise money. Great guy, great family.
I will miss the stories that Vern and Dad used to share - I'm glad that I had the time to listen so that they will always be remembered. The two of them are back together laughing and enjoying motorcycles, hunting and stories. Until we meet again!
