Vern RIP. A pal of my Dad's. We often had our trucks at the garage on Hanover down from the lumber yard. Always remember Vern with the cigar.

RIP Vern
Vern and my Dad were pals and we often had our trucks serviced at the garage down from the lumber yard on Hanover. I'll always remember Vern with that cigar.

My condolences to the entire Hunter family. I bought my first used car from Vern in the '60s. He was the only used car salesman that I ever liked.

My husband, Phil Paolella, Jr. worked with him in the ambulance industry for many years, and always spoke of him as a good friend.I know you are all so proud of the many contributions Vern made to his community. I'd like to share one of the many amazing memories I have of Uncle Vern, and one that I have shared with others when speaking of him. A summer party with about 125 family members and friends at our home…as the hostess, I was in continuous motion mingling and making sure all guests were not in need of a thing. I saw Uncle Vern sitting on the box that housed the reel of garden hose. I said to him, “Uncle Vern, come on and sit up on the deck in a nice comfortable chair under the umbrella”. His response was, “No thanks. I've got the best seat in the house….watching my family”. The look of enjoyment and pride on his face, and that simple comment, was one I have never forgotten. Here was a man, who could have bought a king's throne to sit on…and he chose the plastic garden box where he had the best view of all his family!!
I'm sure Uncle Vern will be enjoying his time in heaven, as he did on earth! Love to all, Allison Hancock Wiernasz

For many years Vern sat in his chair on the lanai to enjoy the sunshine and a little snooze. We will miss talking across the pool on the 7th floor of Island Winds. We are deeply sorry for your loss. We know family meant the world to Vern. You are ALL in our thoughts and prayers.
