Dearest Alan, You shared so much with me that still influences me today. This one is now in my heart as forever for you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5iOiLX5ppA “Starman” by David Bowie. May I meet you again someday and we can have all those unfinished conversations. I let it go far too long before I tried to speak.
To all who knew him better than I, I know there are no comforting words I can share at this tragic time. I can only say I understand being gripped within the difficulty of missing his presence in your lives and I am so deeply sorry that it is this instead of otherwise. Would that it could be otherwise. There are no words that can slake the pain of such a loss.
I couldn't have made it to MA in time for the service. I only became aware of this obituary in the middle of the day on the 20th and have been struggling with it ever since. I need to come there in the summer to pay tribute to him and what we had in times past.

I didn't know Alan well, but over the years I have seen him in many Arena Civic Theater's productions. I especially remember how good he was in the role of the IRS agent in one of my favorite comedies, George Kauffman and Moss Hart's "You Can't Take it with you." One time when I was doing a very small part in an ACT production, Alan came into the theater. We struck up a conversation. He was very encouraging. He made me feel that any contrinution I made to community theater - no matter how small - was important. He was a really talented but very down to earth guy.

Alan had a song for every moment, every feeling. For the man with the child in his eyes... I'd like to dedicate, "Among the Angels" by Kate Bush.

To Alan's family- my deepest sympathies and all my love.

Iwas in The Sound of Music and Carnival with Alan, a very long time ago, with the Northfield Counry Players. It was a good time in my life, but a difficult one. Alan was there...I am sorry I lost touch with him, especially now. I am honored and happy to have had him in my life, when I did, it means the world to me. My heart goes out to his friends and family, as it is truly an enormous loss. Peace be with you all.

Ah, community theater. It's been years since I worked with Alan, and I am sad to hear of his passing.
Blessed Be.

Dear Ann and Mark,
I feel your grief as you probably can imagine. My heart goes out to both of you and I want you to know that if there is anything that I can do please do not hesitate to ask.

Always the epitome of a professional on stage - always direct, such passion for the characters he played...he will be missed.

I have never known and had someone be a part of my life for so long. Yes, we drifted apart at times as we experienced different stages in our lives, but we had a bond that made us return back in each others' lives seamlessly. I am so happy and grateful for the time we had spent together for the last couple of years. Since I was 15 years old, he has impacted my life more than I can possibly explain. He will always have a piece of my heart and I will deeply miss his caring and sensitive nature. I will miss him forever....
