You always found a way to find the humor in things. What most of the world worried about you always made a bit trivial by way of, as you would say, much "MADness".

We thank you for sharing the "MADness" point of view and for making our world a better place through much "MADness".

You will be missed "MADLY".

On behalf of the Southeast Chapter of the National Cartoonists Society (which Bob was kind enough to associate with), our deepest condolences to the family. Our admiration for Bob's work is boundless, but know he meant so much more to you, his family, than we can ever truly understand. He will be missed by his friends, contemporaries, and peers within our ranks.

My deepest condolences to Dean and his family. Bob lived a life that most can only dream of and his talent was, and is, apparent every where he went.

His love of laughter and his ability to make others laugh over the absurd and ridiculous is his legend. He loved to people watch and while sometimes critize or joke, he had a big heart. His generosity in sharing his talent has left many of us with fond memories.

Thanks for the all the great times we had playing Team Trivia ( you were quite the boot scoot...lol),and your joining us for the Seaford Riverfest was always fun.

Love and miss you!

MAD Magazine was mind expanding to me as 6th grader on Maui. Mr. Big Ears on MAD' s front cover didn' t creep me out enough to stop reading cartoon strips of perverse and grotesque perspective.
April 02, 2013
Thanks for the illustrations in MAD.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

The end of an era. Mr. Clarke will be remembered for his wonderful, witty
talent.

To the Clarke family,

I wanted to offer my condolences.

Imagine; life when
when eyes of blind ones see again,
And ears of deaf ones hear again,
When deserts blossom as the rose
And from parched ground fresh water flows,
When lame ones leap just like the hart,
When loved ones never have to part,
Such blessed times you'll realize,
If you keep your eyes on the prize.

When tongues of mute ones speak again,
When old ones will be young again,
When earth will yield her rich increase
And all good things will never cease,
When songs of children fill the air,
When joy and peace are everywhere,
Then, too, you'll see the dead arise,
If you keep your eyes on the prize.

When wolves and lambs will feed as one,
When bears and calves bask in the sun,
A mere young boy will lead them all,
And they will head his childish call.
When tears belong to yesterday,
When fears and pain have passed away,
You'll see how God these things supplies,
If you keep your eyes on the prize.

My Prayers and thoughts will be with you all.

Mr. Clarke was very talented. I will never forget his "MAD" illustrations

The name Bob Clarke was synonymous with the best years of "Mad" magazine. Others may have been the greater legends as far as illustrators are concerned but Clarke struck a genuine emotional chord with the public in a way that the work of the more celebrated creators could not touch. The sheer popularity of Bob Clarke's best work remains unmatched. He will be missed.

I too grew up in the '60's and read every issue of this great magazine. Mr. Clarke's work was brilliant.
April 02, 2013
Rest in Peace, Mr. Clarke. And thank you so much for your wonderful and entertaining illustrations. As a bona fide Baby Boomer, raised in the '60s, I too, am a life-long fan of Mad Magazine -- especially, your fabulous (and humorous!) Spy versus Spy drawings!!

Dear sir, you will be missed. I had just started rereading my collection of "Mad" magazines from the golden years. I remember when you first popped up. May God guide you safely home.

Loved "MAD" Magazine. I grew up in the '60. I didn't realize until later how profound it was. The art work was a big part of it.
