Our father was born in Artesia, New Mexico on December 15, 1930 and was called to our creator on September 10, 2013 at the age of 82, he was surrounded by his loving family. Harvey was an honored Korean War Veteran and Master Sergeant Army 48th AIB, 1st Cav. Division, 8th Cav. Regiment. He was recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Korean Medal of Honor and unit citation including other military service awards. He was also a member of the American Legion. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; Erineo and Casimira Montoya, sisters; Dominga Montoya, Patsy Andrade, brothers; Manuel, Louie ,Fred Montoya and his son Harvey L. Montoya Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Elva L. Montoya. 1 son: Eddy Montoya. 2 Daughters: Tina Felix and Anna Weimer. 6 grandchildren: Edward Montoya Sr., Jennifer Montoya, Erik Thiessen, Andrew Thiessen, Andria Lewis and DeAndre Lewis. 3 great grandchildren: Neveah Montoya, Cardell Lewis and Edward Montoya Jr. 1 sister: Laura Gomez. 5 Brothers: Juan, Frank, Catarino, Joe and Tito Montoya along with numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, September 15, 2013 from 2-8 pm at Whitehurst-Peters-Loyd Chapel with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 pm. Mass will be celebrated at 9 am Monday, September 16, 2013 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Interment to follow at St. Anne's Cemetery in Porterville, CA.
