Aurora N. Sierra age 88 and a resident of Porterville for 68 years passed away November 17, 2016 in Porterville. Aurora was born August 8, 1928 at Sherman, NM to Edward and Miguela Norero who soon thereafter moved to Santa Ana before settling permanently in Porterville. Aurora met Richard Sierra Sr. and married the love of her life on July 22, 1951 in Porterville. Young and happy, they loved to go dancing together on weekends and would also spend hours at a time playing cards with their friends and family. They often traveled to Los Angeles and Las Vegas visiting friends and enjoyed bowling together until they were separated by Richards's death on February 7, 1992. Aurora enjoyed listening to "Mexican Rancheria" music, visiting casinos and being with her grandchildren. She was strong willed and had an opinionated personality but her family wouldn't want her any other way. She was preceded in death by her son Samuel Sierra on October 10, 2005 and 5 Sisters: Henrietta, Clara, Annie, Nat and Rosie. Surviving family includes her son Richard Sierra Jr. of Porterville. Daughter Kathy Morales and husband Fortunato of Porterville along with 4 grandsons: Albert Jr., Sam Jr., Alfred and Richard III. 5 granddaughters: Marisa, Alexis, Stacey, Jenah and Jenal. A Memorial Service will be held at Whitehurst-Peters-Loyd Funeral Chapel at 11:00am Tuesday November 22nd.
