Herbert Edward Coil, 77, born March 26, 1938, left St. Catherine's Manor of Washington Court House Sunday, June 21, 2015, to be with his parents, Franklin and Pearl Theobald Coil and brothers, Ralph and Dale Coil.
Herb left behind Sarah Jane Burgess Coil, his wife of 53 years; two sons, Michael (Cookie) Coil and Patrick (Darlene) Coil and a daughter, Kathryn Nash of Florida; his grandchildren, Nathan Coil (Christina) of Wyoming, Shawn (Jenny) Coil, Seth Coil, Casey (Patricia) Coil, Beth and Jay Coil and great grandchildren, Landen and Hailey. He also left behind two brothers, Willard Coil and Warren (June) Coil and two sisters, Mary Coil of South Carolina and Arlene (Roger) Thompson and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a lifelong farmer of this area who quietly cared for his family and tended his farm. He enjoyed his grandchildren, watching Nascar and traveling. He was a long time member of the Grace United Methodist Church and the Good Hope Lions Club. He served six years in the Air National Guard. He retired recently so he could spend more time with his loved ones.
The funeral will be Friday, June 26, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the Grace United Methodist Church in Washington Court House with Mell Wickensimer, director of visitation at the church and the Rev. Keith Clary, chaplain for Hospice of Fayette Co., Inc., officiating. Burial will follow in the Highlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church Thursday from 5-8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Fayette County, Inc., 222 West Oakland Avenue, Washington Court House, Ohio 43160.
Arrangement are under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.
