So sorry for your loss Susanne & to all of Don's family. His sister Alice Higby was my very best friend so I go way back with Don in Stockton. Lots of fun memories ! after many years, for some reason, I thought of him on his 91st birthday & found him on internet & sent him Happy Bday. He found it months later & sent message back. Why I have always remembered his Bday I will never know but so glad I did cuz it was great to hear from him.

Rest In Peace, dear Don...As your second wife, and mother of our lovely daughter, Cynthia, we had
many beautiful, loving years together. You will never be forgotten...

Don was married to my sister Audrey for 12 years, Cynthia's mother, accordingly I had the honor of being his brother-in-law. He was a very wonderful generous person in life and will always be remembered for his intellect and wit. His contributions to society were enormous. His passing is very unfortunate. He will be greatly missed.

There were many chapters in Don's life, the extended DePlautt family will cherish being one of them.
When I first met Don (and Suzanne), Brian and I met them at a Sotheby's auction and then dinner. I remember listening in awe at how as a young adult/still adolescent - he made decisions to do what he wanted to do. He told the story in an elegant way that my expression caused them to ask- what am I thinking? I thought admiration.
We have always admired Don.
The relationship he and Suzanne exhibited showed true soul mates. The relationship he had with Brian and I and our children - - he never skipped a beat-- he was our brother-in-law, uncle, "grandfather", godfather and friend.
He had stunning blue eyes, was confident and articulate. He was always giving. He meant the world to us. We have so many fond memories. Just last month - pulling together a birthday memory book - Don and Suzanne's presence was heartwarming, special and extraordinary for Chris, Elizabeth and Robbie. Early Christmas's in CA and just 2 and 3 years ago in Ridgewood, the days were magical--new stories--special gifts, sharing great wine and food. (and years ago Suzanne and Don cooking complete dinners in our kitchen).
Don's life was full and we are full of memories. The sadness of his passing hurts. RIP
Our condolences to Maggie, Rob, David, Vicki, Patrick, Mary, Cynthia, Tom, Cameron, Kelsey, Sarah, Kate and Henry. Love, Kathleen
