Raymond A. "Sonny" Gazzola of New Windsor, a retired executive, entered into rest September 18, 2008 at home. He was 77.
The son of Louis and Carmella Vascello Gazzola, he was born April 26, 1931 in New York.
He was an Army Veteran, serving from 1948 to 1960.
A family statement reads: "His presence will be missed at Sunday dinners with his loving family where lasting memories were made sharing pasta, wine and cigars."
Survivors include his Aunt Tess and Uncle Joe of Garrison, NY; his first cousins, Adele VanderEssen of Washingtonville, Joseph VanderEssen and his wife, Angie DeRobertis of New Windsor, Ramona and Greg Agresti of New Windsor, Ramilda Newell of Monroe, Frank Agresti of Monroe, Cassandra Vascello of Salisbury Mills, Elaine Giardello of Garrison, Loretta and Mike Artusa and many other cousins, also many friends from around the world.
Visitation will be on Saturday, September 20 from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, September 21 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North St., Washingtonville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 22 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Washingtonville.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Moffat Library, 6 West Main St., Washingtonville, NY 10992.
