Cornelius Shephard

I will always remember and treasure the fun Christmas parties we had at Shephard and Joanna's house during the years I worked at Lanterman State Hospital. Mr. Shephard was a wonderful, caring man, and it is my honor to have know him.

While at Pelican Bay State Prison in the early 90s, Mr. Shephard always treated me fairly and pushed me to do the best job I could. At the time I was also a young college football referee and he would never miss an opportunity to point out penalties hat he determined that I had missed or shouldn't have made in a game he happened to see – he enjoyed needling me every chance he could and so did I. So shocked and saddened to hear he had passed away, but very happy that I knew him.

My deepest sympathy to the Shephard family. I Have very fond memories when, I used to spend the night at your home. Hug's to you all.

On behalf of the Hooks High School, Class of '58, we are so proud of the courageous fight and the loving family of our beloved classmate. He will be missed. To the family, we pray your sweet memories will keep you close to each other as you close this chapter and create a new one.
