Uncle Roque and Aunt Irene were my Godparents and named me as was the custom in Spanish families. I spent several Easter vacations with the Padilla famly in my youth while my family would drive to New Mexico. What fun to stay with a family of boys and be part of the mischief, from careening down hills in a wagon to meeting and hanging out with their friends. Uncle Roque is remembered with much love and always was so kind and loving to me. He was such a solid famly man and his love for his famly and Aunt Irene was very apparent. I will miss him and his loving smile but am comforted by the knowledge that he and his lovely wife are together in Gods care. Lillian Sanchez

Uncle Rocque and Aunt Irene were dearly loved by the 5 Sanchez girls and their twin brothers. He was mom's oldest brother and looking back, i see what a sweet brother he was to her, driving all the way from L.A. to Wilmington to look in on the family. Rocque liked to cajole us into song performances, and Irene, so pretty, was always smiling. They lit up many a Sunday with their suprise visits, and will always be remembered with love.
