GALESBURG - Earl Bush, 52, Galesburg, passed away in his home at 9:49 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, after a brief but valiant fight against cancer.
Earl was born Sept. 26, 1965, in Galesburg, the son of Charles Walter and Linda Ann (Nelson) Bush Sr.
Earl is survived by his mother, Linda; five brothers, Rob (Deana) Bush of Rio, and Lee Bush, Chuck (Laurie) Bush, Mike (Clay) Bush and Travis (Melinda) Bush, all of Galesburg; two sisters, Debbie (Roger) McCormack of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Roxanne (Tom) Thomas of Kansas. Earl is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews; nine great-nieces and great-nephews; and his godchildren, Thomas McCormack and Hunter Ramage. Earl was preceded in death by his father; and two brothers, Ricky Charles Bush and Charles W. "Bubby" Bush Jr.
Earl managed Aldi's Foods for a few years prior to becoming the manager at the Packinghouse Restaurant in Galesburg, where he worked for 20 years. Earl went on to work as a conductor for BNSF Railway, Galesburg, where he was currently employed.
Earl enjoyed being outdoors, working in his yard and playing with his beloved dog, Zodiak, traveling, and riding his Harley-Davidson with his brothers and friends. Earl cherished his great conversations and time spent with his neighbor and close friend, Rose Ann Lynn. He also played golf with his buddies and co-workers. He often traveled to his favorite destinations: Las Vegas, Nevada, Sturgis; South Dakota; the Outer Banks, North Carolina; and Virginia Beach, Virginia, with family, or anywhere he could enjoy the ocean. Earl will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
