I am so sorry to just learn of John's being called home to our Lord. He was a special man. He always had a smile for you and the time to speak with you. My family has fond memories of him. Please accept my belated condolences, Dorcas.
God bless.

My mom's cousin John has always been a special person. He always talked to me at family reunions when I was young and told great stories that made me laugh or inspired me to travel and see the world. My favorite memory? He took me, a ten year old girl, golfing. I couldn't hit a basketball with a plank, much less a golf ball with a club. He kept encouraging me and even made me laugh as I repeatedly swung and missed. He laughed most of all when I eventually connected and made it all the way to the green. This special attention was extended to my young children when he met them many years later: his kindness, gentle nature, and humor will be hard to replace in our lives.
We are happy to have had the opportunity to spend time with him and Dorcas, and grateful to John for his service to our country and to his many communities. Jennifer Eich and Salvador, Rebeca & Gabriel Fernandez
