DALLAVALLE, ROGER Roger L. Dalla Valle, retired owner of Photography by Dalla Valle, passed away Tuesday, July 1, at MD Cancer Center, Houston, TX, after a long bout with Leukemia. He was 64. Besides recording family history for almost three decades, Roger enjoyed sailing. In 1998, he and his crew took first place in every Tall Rig division race at the Catalina 30 National Regatta. Cooking was another passion. Roger enjoyed preparing delicious meals, especially on the charcoal grill, for family and friends. For the last two years, Roger enjoyed obedience and agility training with his Sheltie, Randy. Bullseye pistol shooting was always on his bucket list. For the last year, he was able to pursue the sport at the Torrington Gun Club and North Western Connecticut Sportsmen’s Association. Roger was a member of the Torrington Elks Lodge #372 for 37 years. In remembrance of Roger, please give blood, the gift of life. He leaves his wife Marilyn Weingart Dalla Valle and sons, Ron and Scott and wife Katherine and grandsons, Christopher and Ryan. He also leaves a sister Lois Videtto and was predeceased by a brother Francis. To honor Roger, there will be a Celebration of Life, July 9, 2014 at the Torrington Elks Lodge #372, 70 Litchfield Street, Torrington, CT. Family will receive relatives and friends 5 - 6:30 PM. Reception will follow. www.phalenfuneral.com
