Kermit A. Kivett, 81, of Cottage Grove, OR passed away October 11, 2013, from Parkinson's and Cancer. He was born December 27, 1931, in Eugene, OR to Clayton and Birdie (Lamb) Kivett. Kermitt graduated from Springfield High School in 1949 and he served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as a telephone repairman and installer for Pacific Northwest Bell for more than 40 years. Kermitt loved working outside, raising cattle and mowing his lawn on his ranch. He took pride in making his property look really nice. He enjoyed being at home with his family. Kermitt was a member of the First Church of Nazarene. He married Arlene Lebow on April 15, 1956, in Cottage Grove, OR.
Survivors include his Daughter, Karen Wolfard and husband Dennis, Harrisburg, OR, Daughter, Barbara Shields and husband Michael, Antioch, CA, Daughter, Valerie Lamb and husband Chris, Springfield, OR, Son, Stuart Kivett and wife Julia, Beaverton, OR, Son Kyle Kivett and wife Wendy, Salem, OR, Sister, Lois Comstock, Yuma, AZ, Brother, Kenneth Kivett, Coburg, OR, 12 Grandchildren and 7 Great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Son, Steven Kivett, Wife, Arlene Kivett and Sister, Cleta Shannon.
A Memorial will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday Oct. 19, 2013, at First Church of Nazarene, Eugene, OR and private Inurnment at Sunset Hills, Eugene, OR.
