Hello and God bless from New York City: My husband Ricardo was living in the Pontalba on Jackson Square when the storm hit. He came up to New York in September 2005 when his seafaring union was pretty much washed into the Gulf. We met when I was teaching a class, and married in 2008. I consider myself a 'NOLAN' by marriage and we had the early copy of Chris Rose's powerful ONE DEAD IN ATTIC. I have two family members with Alzheimers here in NY. But, soon as their care is arranged, Ric will return to New Orleans; I'm coming with him. In honor of those who did not survive Hurricane Katrina? We will roll up our sleeves with loving resolve, lend our energy to the rebuilding which will take another decade..and maybe add some new flavors to the gumbo. We remember and honor those lost, in our prayers. And we look forward to bringing our energy and dedication to this remarkable, amazing place! A city, one character says in the series TREME, "lives in the collective imagination of the world!"

9 Years later and I still miss my friend Deb Law. I can still hear her sing all the Journey songs while riding with me to work at IHOP. Not only was she my employee but she was my friend. I miss you Deb RIP

It has been quite a while since this tragedy yet i am still broken hearted over the tragedy. To the families, friends and the world that still weeps may the following make your day just a bit better:At Psalm 56:8 David pleaded to God: "Do put my tears in your skin bottle. Are they not in your book? Like David I know that God is aware of your pain and whatever you are going through emotionally. .. let him help you he knows what you need. (Jeremiah 29:12) . . .And YOU will certainly call me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to YOU. . .

It's unbelievable the devastation that occurred with Katrina. My heart goes out to all. However I am signing this guest book in memory of all the animals who's lives were destroyed. I am greatful that I was able to rescue a Beautiful and loving K-9 survivor.

Although it's been a few years since your lives were so devastated, it can still be very difficult to face the new year without your loved one. But God's promise of a new earth without tears of pain and death as well as the love of family and friends can carry you through.

I know what is it like to lose loved ones, but cannot say I know how the victims of Katrina feel. Unless you were there, can one truly know what it feels likes. My heart and prayers go out to each and everyone of Louisiana's victims and their families.
