Thank you a thousand times for your contributions to restorative justice, Liz.

This fall will be the annual Liz Elliott Memorial Lecture as well as the Liz Elliott Memorial Ceremony conducted by the Tseil-Waututh Nation and Spiritual Elder Alex Paul for a number of months now in relation to Liz' memorial ceremony, which always happens 4 years after someone passes away. This ceremony formally marks the end of the mourning process and allows her spirit to pass. She is still very much loved and missed.

May God bless and keep Elizabeth's family and all those who knew and loved her, as well as those that she loved. May He also grant me the power to continue here in the United States what Elizabeth Elliot began in British Columbia. Lord give me the courage To Defend If Necessary

I took a number of courses with Liz and found her to be passionate, inspiring and supportive. I only just found out about her passing and am having a hard time accepting that she is truly gone from this world... But what a wonderful legacy she has left behind.

I met Liz at SFU in 2007 when I was doing some research on Restorative Justice. She was generous with her time, and her passion left me rethinking restorative justice, and the punitive justice system that we use today. She made a strong impression on me and I've thought of her and our conversation many times since. Her commitment to humanity was palpable and contagious. I know that she has left a legacy that will live on for generations. And I also know she must be dearly missed by her friends and family. I am so sorry for your loss.

I took undergrad courses with Dr. Elliot. I remember Dr. Elliot as compassionate person who supported me through a dark phase of my life and encouraged me to find fight for myself. I wish she was here with us. I miss her very much.

Dear Auntie,

I wish I could be talking to you today, and hearing your voice speak out loud, back to me. I think of you everyday, and I know you're looking out over me. I can feel it and there's so many signs you leave me with. They're signs of which remind me of you, so I know you're there. Thanks and keep it up :)! Because I love feeling you around me and having your presence. It seriously makes my day.

I wear your ring everyday and I feel more than naked without it. I know, I know, being naked is natural but still. I found the one you left with Shannon on the weekend of St. Patrick's day, which she had been looking for, for months, and actually shook the sheets to find it. Maybe it took some sisterly love for ya?

I did drink some Guinness for you though. And it's not my favourite, but I did need your little bit of Irish spirit there, even though it (partying) is totally NOT actually what Patty's day is about, which you probably taught me when I was little.

Don't work too hard out there eh Auntie! I'll see you some day though, and i'll bring a case of Guinness with me and we'll celebrate together!

Think of you everyday, miss you, love you till the moon,
Meg Myster

Ps. I've learned not to give away my power, thanks you to

Dr Elliott was a visionary and compassionate woman. Her work with the Correctional Service of Canada was very much appreciated and needed.

The book Security with Care that you signed for me last mothers day and the inscription ... A fellow mother you've obviously done a good job of it! Thank you Liz for all you have helped and will continue to inspire for generations. The world is richly blessed because of your journey here.
