William Smith Obituary

William Smith
Burlington, CT
William J. Smith, Jr., age 82, passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at UCONN John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. He was the beloved husband of Arlene (Kosko) Smith.
Born on August 15, 1942, in Waterbury, Bill was the son of the late William J. and Elizabeth (Steffy) Smith, Sr. He attended Leavenworth High School and was a proud U.S. Army veteran. Bill worked as an engineer for Timex, Inc. for over 40 years until his retirement. While working at Timex, Bill and his good friend Paul Papp owned and operated B&P TV Antenna, installing television antennas before the advent of cable television.
The patriarch of the family, Bill was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was happiest spending time with his family and loved attending his grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's sporting events, activities, and recitals.
In addition to Arlene, his beloved wife of 60 years, Bill is survived by his children, William J. Smith, III and his wife Julie of Winsted, Cheri Smith of Waterbury, and Dean Smith and his wife Sharon of Burlington; his cherished grandchildren Barbara Smith, Jessica Nelson, Kaitlyn Smith, Alexis Smith, and Adam Smith; and his great-grandchildren Kaylee, Damian, Micah, Levi, Brianna, Thea, and Tristan. He also leaves his brother-in-law Theodore Kosko and his wife Sharon of Naugatuck, and sisters-in-law Nadia Marcella and her husband Gary of Waterbury and Mary Lou Sharon and her husband Bob of Naugatuck as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Otto "Buddy" Wagner, and his sisters Margaret Galardi and Mary E. Pape.
Bill's family would like to send their thanks to the team at Home Helpers Home
