Steven (Steve) Wayne Guenzi passed away on January 31, 2018, in Loveland, Colorado. His death was caused by a combination of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pneumonia and the flu. Steve was born on the Misawa U.S. Air Force Base in Japan on November 4, 1956. His parents were Wayne Guenzi and Marilyn Lewis Guenzi (deceased). He is survived by his father, step-mother Barbara Guenzi, brother Arron Guenzi, half-brother Todd Guenzi, daughter Jessica Mendez, her husband Julio and his grandkids Blayke and Rylee. Survivors also include many aunts, uncles and cousins. To say that Steve was a unique character would be an understatement. He had a strong independent nature from the day he was born. After graduating from Fort Collins High School in 1975 he worked in the trucking business. He worked for several trucking companies located in Northern Colorado until starting his own trucking company in 2001. He cultivated many friends within the trucking community. Something he looked forward to each year was going to California to visit his daughter and her family. The trip would also include a family outing to watch the Grand Prix of Long Beach. He loved watching all motorsports, especially NASCAR and Indy Car. He was also a loyal Denver Broncos fan through the good times and bad. He enjoyed collecting cars (including a Corvette and a Firebird), trucks and motorcycles. At one time he had seven vehicles, although usually only half of them ran at any one time. There will be no public ceremony and a family gathering will be planned for a future date.

Dear Guenzi Family,
Lesli and I are very saddened to hear about Steve's death. Mrs. Guenzi, your conversation with me at my mother's funeral was very comforting and I have thought about all of you since then. Our prayers are with you and may God give you comfort as well.

I remember one day back in the 70's when we were both in our early teens Steve let me ride his mini bike, I was hooked. Shortly there after I bought a motorcycle, I've had one ever since and had the best times of my life riding. Thanks Steve, Ride On.....
