Truly memorable.

In the way he approached every task with enthusiasm and energy, Mr. Marlo was a perfect teacher-by-example.

He was a most wonderful teacher and so was is wife, who was my third grade teacher! I loved them both very dearly.

Most of what he taught me appears no where in any dry text or on any chalk board. Having the privilege to work for Mr. Marlo as a photographer on both the SHS yearbook and The Student Prints was something I appreciated then, even as a kid oblivious to most blessings, but it became an appreciation that only grew with the years. We need more like him but I am not sure that is even possible in today's world. Thank you, Mr. Marlo!

A great teacher, strict yes. But fair. Enjoyed the brief time I knew him.
God Bless you Mr. Marlo. Rest in peace. Angelo Scribellito

Mr. Marlo taught us work ethic, responsibility, and decency, all with great humor. He taught respect for journalism, for deadlines, for co-workers. He taught us how to write. He was a wonderful teacher, mentor and a great influence. With warm memories and appreciation, Phil (Flip) Feldman (SHS '73)

I had Mr.Marlo for homeroom only. I always knew his journalism students had a very high regard for him. He was always a distinguished gentleman. SHS66

Our condolences to Rick and other survivors. We bought the Marlos' house when they moved to a condo 44 years ago. They had been great neighbors, and Fred & I shared the same birth date. His facility with words was amazing, and Connie & I looked forward to his frequent letters. He will remain forever a legend in Sylvania educational circles. Gordon Ward

Fred Marlo was an excellent teacher and role model as well as a truly great friend. He is now reunited with Anne, the love of his life. May they both rest in peace.
