When I was 15 I went to Moscow to visit my sister and brother-in-law (Max Frankel, then NYT correspondent). I was captivated by Roy -- an inimitable story teller. He claimed the Russians expelled him in part because he found a listening device in is stereo system. He was a great journalist and a wonderful human being.
