I was a cub fan all of my life, but you were my idol. Forget banks, ruth, dimaggio, cobb & williams, stan musial was the greatest player, gentleman & ambassador to baseball. I remember when i was a young cub fan, i'd go to wrigley field to here the cub fans give
you a loder hand than any cub would get,
thanks for the memories stan.

As a kid growing up in Pittsburgh during the forties....Stan Musial was my baseball idol! When the Cards were in town...I was at Forbes field when possible. I always asked my self....why Stan was not a Pirate? My sincere condolences to the Musial family....R.I.P. Stash! Ed Portka

I never saw Stan play but to this young lad growing up in the 60's and to this day Mr. Musial will forever be in my humble opinion the greatest MLB player of all time.
I never met Stan but after reading his biography Stan Musial: "The Man's" own story, as told to Bob Broeg, so many times as a child and until the book was lost, I came to feel as if he was a friend and family member.
RIP Stanley Frank Musial, you will be missed but never forgotten.
