Through books and movies, those of us who never knew Major Winters learned to love him. We have lost a truly great man. God bless him and his family and may you find comfort in happy memories.

It is the Men like this Man that allows me the freedoms I have today. I pray I will never take that for granted.
Rest in peace Mr.Winters. You can now know how much you mean to us.

I first readthe book Band of Brothers in 1994 a couple of years after it was published years before the HBO movie made Dick Winters and Easy Company a household name. I was simply in awe of him and the men he led. The movie put to film what I had read and admired in these men. There are few words that can accurately reflect what I think of these men....the last of which will no lnger be with us soon. Simply put, we owe a debt of graditude that can never be repaid in full.

Thanks Mr. Winters for your sacrifices that you and all the men and women of the armed services have given to our nation. May God bless you your family and all who have served, and are serving now. God bless America.

A great, great man. I did not personally know him but identified with him because my dad, Capt. Edward S. Olson, served in the 3rd Army under Patton in WWII. I believe that "Band of Brothers" was the first of many books I have now read about that era. The "greatest generation" is not a misnomer and Winters was among the greatest of that generation.
