Betty Jane holds a special place in my heart. When my brother, Gary, and I were about 5 or 6 years old, Betty Jane took us to a Christmas Party for children at her work place. Such a wonderful day of wonder for two little country kids.
Then, when I got married, I wore my sister-in-law's, Joyce, wedding dress. She altered it for me and then put back to original form for Joyce.
Also, when she and Gene went to a movie, The Robe", she asked me to babysit Bobby and Sandy. I had to call my Mom to come and help me.
I'm not sure if it was Betty Jane or her Mom, Maggie, who made my first two dresses out of feed sacks when I started 1st grade at Portland Mills school.
And her Mom, Maggie, would pick me up for Sunday School if Mom couldn't go for some reason.
I have loving memories of Betty Jane and her family.
God Bless you and your family as you celebrate your Mom's life. She was truly a wonderful person to have touched my life. She is one of God's Disciples that I talk about on my website merrymousechurchmouse when I wrote about my God moments growing up in Lake City and attending Lake City Methodist Church.
