Priscilla E. Leahy, 88, of 313 Cherry Ave., Ridgway, died Monday evening, April 10, 2017 at Penn Highlands DuBois following a brief illness.
She was born Oct. 20, 1928 in Bradford, daughter of the late Frank and Irene (Johnson) Fitch. She married William E. Leahy Sr. on Aug. 14, 1948, he preceded her in death Jan. 20, 1988.
She resided in Ridgway for over 80 years and was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a graduate of Ridgway Area High School. She had been employed by Elk County General Hospital for many years.
She is survived by one daughter, Irene Tones of Talking Rock, Georgia; three sons, Mark (Linda) Leahy of Ridgway, Kevin (Lorrie) Leahy of Ridgway and Fred (Cyndi) Leahy of Winchester, Virginia; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Cochran of New York and Rebecca Askey of Mechanicsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, William E. Leahy Jr.; two grandsons, James A. Leahy and Michael Leahy; and one brother, Fred Fitch.
A memorial service for Priscilla E. Leahy will be held at the convenience of the family. Officiating will be Ronald L. Burkett, pastor of the Hallton Church. Burial will be in Oakmont Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials, if desired, can be made to the Ridgway Public Library. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.
