Elvira J. Anderson, 91, of Spruce Street, Force, died Friday, Jan. 22, 2016 at the DuBois Nursing Home.
She was born April 8, 1924 in Clearfield, daughter of the late William "Jake" and Mabel M. (Fye) Burkett.
She married Raymond J. Anderson on Aug. 16, 1945, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 1979.
She lived in Bennetts Valley since 1940 and was a graduate of Huston Township High School. She was the owner/operator of Elvira's Beauty Salon in Force for 40 years. She enjoyed bowling, crossword puzzles, her cats, and especially her family.
She is survived by four children, Charlotte (Dave) Zettle of Ridgway, Virginia (Bob) Traveny of Force, Jon R. Anderson of Nashville, Tenn., and Jay W. (Jackie) Anderson of Penfield; three grandchildren, Jon Zettle, Dana Jordan and Bradley Anderson; and four great-grandchildren.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin "Jim" Kunselman; and a sister, Esther Corson.
Private services for Elvira J. Anderson will be held by her family.
Interment will be in Maria Lutheran Church Cemetery, Dagus Mines.
The family suggests memorials to the DuBois Nursing Home or favorite charity and will be accepting online condolences at www.nedzafamilyfuneralhomes.com.

My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise found in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring you some comfort. Knowing that there is a future for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.
