Growing up in Ridgway, I would go to the Luthern church with my Grandmother Millie. Reverend Hollertz always had a calming and meaningful service, and I always looked forward to shaking his hand on the way out. He has made his mark, and one to be proud of. My prayers to his family. I have many memories of the Hollertz family after we left Ridgway in 1964, when would return for visits and holidays (and church services) through my young and teenage years. One story that my mom (Frances Anderson)always reminds us of was when my dad (Leonard Anderson) was in Elk County General having serious colon surgery. Pastor Hollertz stayed with my mom until well after 3 a.m. until my dad was stabilized. She has never forgotten that! What kindness and compassion he showed! I remember listening to many of his sermons and remember going to Sunday School classes (sometimes in houses near the church because they weren't all be held in the church proper); we were always treated like family and welcomed even though we had moved away. Our sincere condolences to Mrs. Hollertz and the whole family

my prayers are with anna, the kids and all the rest of the family...I absolutely loved your Dad. he was an amazing person and a caring and wonderful Pastor. I loved his sermons and enjoyed just talking with him and your Mom. They would come in the different restaurants I worked in and I enjoyed serving them. One time your Mom had left with friends and Pastor was staying behind, but he realized his keys were locked in the car. It was the first time he used OnStar and they opened the car for him..He got a kick out of that!
Pastor Hollertz was so supportive of our congregation when we were going through transitions..i remember after 9/11 and I sang a song "My List" by toby keith, in church and he had such nice things to say about it.
And your Dad is the reason why I know where "dragonflies" come from. I regret not sending them a note about what was going on in my life, but I hope he knows how much of an influence he had on my life.
I also played a little song{ that he used to sing (and have us sing with him) at the beginning of the services} on Easter service. it was a tribute to an amazing man and Pastor and I hope he heard it and liked it!
Take care and God bless you all...
