I had the pleasure of working with and for Dr. Spencer. I will always remember Dana "Doc" Spencer with a big smile on his face making his famous "Crabby Spencers" for lunch at Columbia Memorial Hosptial in Hudson, N.Y. He always told me I could be whatever I wanted to be...... he'd be proud to know that after 34 years... I am still here @ CMH! You were RIGHT DOC!!! Thank you!!! To his family... my sympathy.... he truly was one of a kind!
Remembering Dana Spencer: I met Dana during my first Air Force assignment and overseas tour of duty. During this time I was overwhelmed by homesickness and loneliness and realized I had made a terrible mistake. So it seemed. Then I met Dana, he had a wonderful sense of humor and put the difficulties of my life in perspective more than once. Because of Dana, I am eternally grateful, he was a dear friend, occasional confidant. Certainly mentor. He remains and will always be remembered as my rock. Much of our contact in later life was through the internet, nevertheless we kept in touch for 48 years. Auf Wiedersehen my dear liebe Dana. I will never forget you. My sympathy to his dear and loving wife Marilyn and family. Deine Peggy and Ross McKintosh
I am saddened to learn of my Spencer cousin's passing. He was extremely helpful to me with genealogy of my Austin Spencer side of the family. He was intelligent, witty and thoughtful and adored his family. What a void in all our lives.
Shortly after talking to Dana for the very first time, I realized then and there that he was the kind of person the world needed more of. His friendship and trust were as real as his interest in people, both past and present. Like so many others, I'm very thankful for the time he gave to me.
Dana is remembered by us as a very intelligent, gentle man, who cared for his family and loved them very much. Even though we were miles apart he was always willing to send us genealogy when we needed help, and we enjoyed seeing his home with all his memorabilia on the walls. Now he is in the next life with all those families he did the genealogy
for. God Bless, Wayne and Hilda
Dad, I am heartbroken...Thank you for the gift of an inquisitive mind. I'll miss you and our discussions so much. I love you, Dawn
Danas big smile and sharp wit will be dearly missed in our office. We have always thought of Dana and Marylin as part of our family here at Rotech. We will always remeber him and smile!
Words are never enough to express the sorrow felt on losing a loved one. Ray and I were truly blessed to visit your lovely home and meet Marilyn. We will miss your emails.
To the Spencer family, Dr. Spencer was a wonderful teacher and friend. He could make us laugh and would always listen to our ideas. He will be greatly missed.

Will Always Be Missed Brother Dear
To all of Dana's family:
It was with sadness that we read of Dana's passing in the Democrat and Chronicle this morning. Dana was a childhood friend and classmate of my husband, Ron Lockwood and I've heard many tales of their escapades in Spencerport, NY. We will miss Dana's e-mails and hearing about his children and grandchildren. He also was a treasure trove of information regarding the founding fathers of our little town, named for his ancestors.
We extend our condolences to Dana's entire family and we know that wonderful memories will sustain you all and give you comfort in these difficult times.
Rest in Peace Big Brother. You will always be missed but will always be in my heart.
Dana you were my friend for over 29 yrs and Teresa and I will miss you. I will miss that big smile you had every time I saw you.
My Big Brother will be greatly missed but always have a very special place in my heart. Great memories of all the fun times as kids. He will be looking out for Lance now. Peace to His Family.
May your memories of the wonderful times you shared with your loved one comfort you and your family, today and always.
Dana and I were friends late in life and early in high school. We on different sides of the political scene but could enjoy each others point of view.
I will miss our conversations and his wit
Marilyn and family,
Dana was always such a good conversationalist. We shared many similar views in humor and very few in politics, but he was always fun.
We are so sorry to hear of his passing.

My late father, Bob McKinney, always lit up when Dana's name was mentioned. They've had a long friendship from their years together at Burroughs Audubon Nature Club. Dana was very kind to share his memories and photos of the Burroughs yesteryear times, we've always been grateful for this. Wishing blessings & peace to all those he left behind.
Rest in peace my friend. I'll miss your mind.
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
You will be forever remembered.
