Aunt Lula I truly miss our long phone conversations. You always had something inspirational and uplifting to share even when you were suffering. I know Heaven has an angel with huge golden wings ready to assist in spreading God's Word. Gone but not forgotten and truly missed. Love you dearly, your niece Shirley

Billy Jean, it is always sad to hear of the departure of a friend's loved one. However, we can rest assured that your beloved mother is now resting in peace in the arms of the Lord after living a plentiful life of Love and Values, which, although I did not know her personally, I can attest by knowing you as a friend and co-worker. Like someone once said, in life God was with her, and now she is with God. May the Lord bless you and your family. You are in my prayers.

Billye Jean-

I am so sorry to hear your loss... usually on ocassions such as this (when offering condolences, prayer is offered also to console the loss). However when putting thought into this... I happen to know that You and Your Mom were never short on prayers! In fact I would selfishly like to ask that you include ME in your prayer list if you can? I find comfort in knowing the good deeds and places in history that You and Ms. Lula Jean hold and although I didn't understand HIS ways when I first met You BJ! I now understand and I appreciate the the many talks and wisdom you have passed my way. Know that I respect you and I extend my deepest hearfelt sympathy to you and family.

Ms. Lula,

I never met you in person...but in the most sincere way I honestly feel like I was graced with your presence through the conversations and introductions regarding you that I received from your gracious daugther Ms. Billye Jean Armstrong. I have never been in the presence of someone that would literally incorporate their mother and her every being into ANY excerpt of one's conversation. Ms. Billye would always rave about you and the mini conversations, trips, birthdays, party planning and "hanging out" outings that you both would engage in. When speaking of you...her face absorbs such a prideful glow, one that screams "I LOVE my mother." I was sad to hear that you would no longer be here in the physical and I know the toll that such a departure takes on ALL those persons in this world that LOVED you. However...I take PRIDE in knowing that you are with the KING and are up there with your make-up and crown hat basking in the glory. My prayers are with your family and friends who knew you and your strength in not only THEM...but the basket of your FAITH. I would ask that you continue to hug your loved ones from above and give them the PEACE in knowing that you are alright and that your heartbeat through their love and remembrance will NEVER cease. Rest with the angels and I thank YOU for the daugther that you birthed who I consider to be a special spirit in my life.

Billye, you have been an outstanding daughter to your mother. You have always respected her and carried yourself as the child of God that you are. You have shown love, commitment and dedication. Great is thine faithfulness.

To my Mama I miss you. You were my guiding light, my spiritual focus, and my saving grace. My absence in no way shows a lack of love. I will forever love you and all that you have instilled in me. Through you I have learned Christ, the love of God, and how to deal with tragedy. May you forever rest in God's bosum, until we meet again.
Your loving devoted grandson Tyrone.

Billye Jean, May God comfort you in the loss of your mother. She will be missed. I am so blessed that you and your mom shared my 90th birthday with me and I will always remember her kindness and love to me. To be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord. May God continue to bless and keep you and your family in the name of Jesus. Hildred Waller

My sympathies to the entire Dowe family. I will always remember Ms. Webb who brought the 12th Street Christian Church down to Shiloh Baptist Church in Salem, Va. for the first annual Homecoming Service. Shiloh still continues this annual celebration and that is due in part to Ms. Lula Webb's faith, guidance, and support. May she rest in peace with our Heavenly father. I wish the family peace and love.
